Situated at the base of the mountain where Moses received the ten commandments, St. Catherine's Monastery is one of the most famous in the world. Built between 527 and 565 AD, it is believed to be built around Moses' Burning Bush. The Monastery is named after St. Catherine who was tortured and beheaded for her Christian beliefs. During your visit you will see chapel Greek orthodox church, the icons of worship and the famous Mosaic of Transfiguration.
Please note, St Catherine's Monastery is approximately 230 kilometers from Sharm El Sheikh.

SCHEDULE DETAILS:
Pick up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh @ 10 pm.
Transfer to St. Catherin's monastery :
- About 2.5 hours drive with air conditioned van.
Climb the Sinai mount :
- It's time to go on a new adventure. climb the mountof Moses for about 2 to 3 hours untill you get the top.
- Stay at the top of the mountain (the holy peak) waiting for the sunrise. it is in fact an unforgettable moment watching the sunrise from this spot.
Come down of the mount.
Visit St. Catherin's monastery :
- The church of transfiguration, Moses well, the museum and the icon gallery are The highlights of visiting the monastery which opens at 9.00 AM till 12.00 PM every day except for Sunday and Friday.
Breakfast:
- Breakfast will be served in a hotel near the site of the monastery.
Transfer back to your hotel in Sharm Elshiekh:
- Estimated time for being back to the hotel in Sharm will be between 1:00-2:00 pm.
Before you go make sure to bring
- It gets so chilly on top of the mount so better bring some jumpers or heavy cloth.
- Your valid passport with full visa of Egypt.
- Comfortable shoes and wear.
